The Corniche & West Bay skyline

West Bay's towers change character once the sun drops: glass turns gold, then the skyline flattens into a dark silhouette across the lagoon. These were shot along the Corniche promenade and near the Diplomatic Club, where the path runs closest to the water. See the full Corniche guide.

Mina District: the old port, repainted

Mina District was rebuilt around the former Old Doha Port, and it now reads more like a small Mediterranean town than anywhere else in the city: pastel facades, narrow lanes, and rooftop terraces stacked one above another (source: visitqatar.com, accessed 2026-09-03). Katara Cultural Village after dark

Katara runs two very different moods depending on when you show up: a quiet arts district by day, and an illuminated amphitheatre-and-restaurant scene once the sun goes down. Most of what's below was shot after dark, when the limestone steps and the district's restaurants light up. Full guide: Katara Cultural Village.
